Project Overview
Pocket Oasis is a collection of reusable beach objects designed to encourage calm, creativity, and playful interaction using the natural elements of the beach. Rather than introducing new technology, the project focuses on simple, tactile tools that invite people of all ages to slow down and engage with sand in intentional ways.
The collection is lightweight, portable, and designed to be reused—filled with sand during use and emptied before leaving the beach.
Design Brief
Our task was to design a collection of items for use at the beach that balanced play, creativity, and environmental responsibility. We aimed to create objects that felt joyful and calming without removing users from their surroundings.

Portability and ease of use
Reusability and low environmental impact
Appeal across age groups
Respect for the natural beach ecosystem

Pocket Oasis is a cohesive collection that reframes beach play as a quiet, creative ritual. By working with sand rather than against it, the project encourages presence, imagination, and reuse—offering an alternative to disposable beach toys and high-energy distractions.
